[Gary had already been holding back because he knows Dave is Dirk's brother and would back flip off a cliff while juggling chainsaws if it got Gary to stop arguing with him. So he's not surprised. But that doesn't mean it doesn't piss him off. How dare he?

But he can't do anything about it. He can't tear Dave down to teach him a lesson because he has to keep a stronger hold on him than ever. He has competition. And Gary can't risk losing the one person who he's sure would be in his corner no matter what. That would be unacceptable.

But Gary Smith never lets anyone off easy. His fingers type but he winces. He doesn't want to say this, but he'll make it up to himself.
